Learn more about the craftsmanship of our green tea artisans.
Our tea is made by artisan farming communities in Japan, using traditional techniques passed down over generations.
Instead of nameless big corporations, we work with family-owned businesses. This way, we support local artisans and know exactly what goes in your tea.
We use modern techniques like organic farming, decaffeination and extraction, to create better products for your modern-day wellness ritual.
To deliver top-quality green tea, we work with the Crafti Collective, our network of tea artisans, farmers and partners across Japan.
Ohtani-san is the 3rd-generation owner of a tencha factory in Kozuya, Kyoto. The factory has been operating since the early 1970s where 20% of tencha are still harvested by hand.
Masaru-san is a renowned tea master who has won Japan's' National Tea Quality Judging Competition with over 120 tea masters.
Tadashi-san is a 2nd-generation tea farm and factory owner, who cultivates and processes Matcha in Nishio prefecture.
Frost causes sprouts of tea plants to wither, turn black and die. This can mean the ruin of many years of efforts to cultivate these plants.
Masaru-san, on the toughest part of tea cultivation.
Tea plants are more susceptible to frost damage because of the relatively high water content in their tissues. When exposed to freezing temperatures, the water inside plant cells can freeze, and expand, causing damage to cell walls.
Tadashi-san, on solving the problem of frost damage

Happy to be able to buy such great matcha at this price! Hope crafti could bring in more variants of the matcha in future.
Crafti’s matcha powder is one of my fav! It’s fresh and brings out the vibrant taste of ceremonial matcha. The best part is that the powder is so smooth that it blends well in both warm and cold liquid. I pair it with Meiji’s deluxe fresh milk and it creates the best matcha latte combi! Definitely would Crafti’s recommend matcha to anyone looking for quality & taste👍🏻
Crafti’s Ceremonial Uji Matcha is sooo good. Not bitter or grassy at all, just super creamy and smooth. I usually mix it with strawberry milk and it tastes amazing. Been having it every afternoon now, it’s my little daily treat.
This is my first shot with homemade ceremonial matcha and i never thought it tasted good
Got me looking forward to matchas while i tamper down my daily caffeine intake 🙌
The matcha is fresh and taste really good. Slight seaweed nori flavour profile, indication of a good matcha powder. Made a strawberry matcha latte version. Pair it with Shiopan. Superb!! 💯
I love the tumbler from Crafti as I filled it with my matcha latte. It looked like the one I drank it from cafe.
I’ve always wanted to try crafti matcha but have always been too lazy to make my own matcha for the longest time. Finally caved in and subscribed to the welcome kit, and I’m glad I did! It came with an electric frother, a precision scoop and of course a packet of matcha powder, which since then I’ve regularly made a few good cups of matcha latte weekly. Customer service was so responsive when I emailed them, looking forward to my next subscription!
